Programme

Keep Up-To-Date
Just occasionally, a change to our walks programme may be necessary. We will endeavour to update the website, but the best way to make sure you have the latest programme is to be on our email list. That way you get your new and amended programmes without having to check back here - and it's probably much easier to print!

Before Walking

You don't necessarily need to do a lot to be prepared for a day's walking, but please read our 'Before Walking' page so you know what to wear and what to bring, to make sure you and everyone else has an enjoyable and safe day.

Meeting Points

We have a number of regular meeting points - click on the links below for maps:

Bradley Stoke Pizza Hut (was Somerfield, same place new naming!) car park

Car Park opposite St Mary Redcliffe

Water Tower on the Downs

Walk Gradings
To choose an appropriate walk please read the walk descriptions along with their gradings - we grade our walks from 1 boot to 3, as explained below. Walks with a + sign after the grading indicate that the terrain or pace of the walk will be slightly harder or faster than would be expected for the associated number. A “Bring packed lunch” in the walk description means that the lunch stop will be away from shops or pubs and refreshments will not be available en-route....
1 boot walks
Less than 16km/10miles generally on recognizable paths, between 2 to 5 hours walking at a reasonably gentle pace. May involve an occasional hill but always includes time to stop and look around.
2 boot walks
Up to 22km/14miles and between 4 to 7 hours walking at a moderate pace. The terrain is likely to include hills and some rough ground. It will be suitable for most walkers or anyone of reasonable fitness.
3 boot walks
A full day of fairly strenuous walking, generally over 22km/14miles and may involve long steep ascents and descents, with the possibility of exposed ridges and the odd scramble (often not on recognized paths). If you are new to the group please check with the leader about the difficulty of the walk.
